Navajo
This makeup will discuss the history and lives of the Navajo Indians, the way the Navajo Indians live and how they provided for their community. The chief(a) mode of subsistence, the three aspects of the Navajo culture (Social Organization, Sickness and Healing, Kinship and Marriage), the positions of the Navajo leadership, and the Navajo Economy.
In around 1400 AD, the Navajo reached the South Western part of North America, and they colonized down there. The Pueblo people who were their new neighbors taught the Navajo how to farm corn and beans and the Navajo began to feel a lot of their food from farming. By 1541 AD, the Navajo were in encounter with Spanish traders though they stayed independent for hundreds of years after that. (Carr, 2012). The Navajo called themselves dine which means The People However, their enemies called them Navajo.
The Navajo are identified as the largest autochthonal North American tribe, their population having rebounded from 15,000 in1870 to 50,000 by 1940, and are a quarter million today (Csordas, 2011).




The Navajo and their relatives the Apache left the other Athabaskans began to displace south through the Great plains, they mostly lived from bison hunting backup in tepees and using dog-sleds to move their things from one camp to some other (they didnt have horses). The Navajo dogs were generally white, with black spots, and not really big (like spaniels).
The Navajo live on a reservation, which is land that belongs to them and is low their control. The Navajo Nation has its own government, laws, police, and services, just like a pocketable country. However, the Navajos are also US citizens and must obey American law (Redish, Lewis, 1998).
