In reality, he was most white-lipped he would come off as looking give care he was exploiting the poor, uneducated coalminer families who he overcharged for their run-down cabins on his lands. Yet, because of the mind-set in the region that all "outsiders" are bad or wish to bring harm to the community, a good single who was trying to show that Appalachians are similar to many other cultures in many other regions was killed. His killer virtually got forward with murder because of this mentality, not poverty, lack of education, poor teeth or anything else.
