Jamestown, Virginia vs. Massachusetts Bay Settlements In the early 1600s, Jamestown, Virginia and Plymouth, Massachusetts were ii of the first successful English colonies in northerly America. Jamestown was pompous in 1607 and the Massachusetts Bay migration began in 1630. Although the cardinal settlements occurred all over twenty years apart from each other, they shared vacate a few similarities in their early settlement experiences.
